- China’s total turkey imports in 2025: 14,800 metric tons, valued at USD 40.5 million.
- Imports from Russia: 13,200 metric tons, valued at USD 35.3 million, accounting for approximately 90% of China’s total turkey import volume.
While China’s overall turkey procurement declined in 2025 compared to 2024 (16,000 metric tons, USD 50 million), Russia remained a key supplier.
- Second-largest supplier in 2025: Chile, with 1,500 metric tons (USD 5.2 million).
Turkey meat is recognized as a dietary product, lower in calories than beef and nearly free of harmful cholesterol. It is associated with benefits such as weight management, immune support, improved sleep, and cardiovascular health.
Broader Agricultural Trade Context:
On January 14, 2026, Agroexport reported that in the first 11 months of 2025, Russian agricultural exports to China increased by 14% year-on-year, exceeding USD 6.7 billion. China remained the largest importer of Russian agricultural products. The top agricultural export category from Russia to China in 2025 was frozen fish.
