EU Revises Maximum Residue Levels for Three Pesticides Including Benfluralin

The European Commission has published a new regulation amending the Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for the pesticides benfluralin, benthiavalicarb, and penflufen in certain food products.

Full Update:

On January 23, 2026, the European Commission published Commission Regulation (EU) 2026/147, amending the Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for the plant protection products benfluralin, benthiavalicarb, and penflufen in or on certain products.

The amendments to Annexes II and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 are as follows:

(1) In Annex II, the columns for benfluralin, benthiavalicarb, and penflufen are deleted.

(2) In Annex V, the columns for benfluralin, benthiavalicarb, and penflufen are added with the following MRLs (excerpt):

This regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
