Japan Notifies Non-Compliance of Chinese-Exported Dried Mangoes, Fresh Onions, and Other Products

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) recently updated its notification on food products violating Japan’s Food Sanitation Law, revealing 8 non-compliant batches of Chinese exports. Key issues included excessive sulfur dioxide residues, pesticide contamination, and microbial pathogens.

According to the MHLW bulletin, the products and their violations are as follows:

QINGDAO HERITAGE FOOD CO., LTD. Dried Apricots, Dried Yellow Peaches, Dried Mangoes, Dried Apples, Dried Strawberries, Dried Hami Melons Sulfur dioxide residues detected at 0.18–0.29 g/kg 
LIANYUNGANG SHENGFU INTERNATIONAL TRADE CO., LTD. Fresh Onions Thiamethoxam pesticide residue detected at 0.04 ppm 
WEIHAI WENMING FOOD CO., LTD. Seafood and Lotus Root Tempura Escherichia coli contamination (positive result)
