Australia New Zealand Issues Amendment No. 247 to the Food Standards Code

On January 20, 2026, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) published the official gazette regarding Amendment No. 247 to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. The amendment primarily revises the following standards:
  • Schedule 3 – Identity and Purity
  • Schedule 26 – Food Produced Using Gene Technology
  • Schedule 29 – Special Purpose Foods
The scope of application for these amendments includes:
  • A1324 – Approval of 3‑fucosyllactose produced by genetically modified Escherichia coli K‑12 for use in infant formula products.
  • A1333 – Approval of the purple tomato line Del/Ros1‑N for use in food.
